In 2000 the University of Bath opened its first campus in Swindon and Sue Pycroft took the lead role in a five-year project to establish a PR presence for the university in the town. Beginning with a virtual press office which generated news stories and handled event management, Vox went on to offer strategic advice to the university throughout the first years of planning for and raising support for a major world-class university campus in Swindon.
In 2005 an independent inspector recommended
that the University's proposal for a new campus near
the Great Western Hospital should be included in the Local
Plan. Swindon Borough Council adopted the local plan in
2006.
Vox also worked with the director of the University’s Institute for Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts on several projects, including support for the World Music Concerts, the Swindon Festival of Literature, the Mela and the co-commissioning of the world premier of White Space by Henri Oguike Dance Company. |
